What is Virtual Gstric Band?

Virtual Gastric Band is a non-surgical technique which uses your powerful subconscious mind to retrain you to be satisfied with smaller amounts of food and motivated to exercise. It changes how you think about food and gives very safe and very predictable results.     return

How does Virtual Gastric Band work?

Virtual Gastric Band is an individualized program consisting of four sessions using the concept of a “Virtual” Gastric Band and hypnosis. The hypnosis convinces your powerful subconscious mind that your body now has the gastric band in place and your stomach is the size of a golf ball. It changes how you think about food and gives very safe and very predictable results. It most definitely is NOT A DIET – we know that diets only work in the short term. The Virtual Gastric Band allows you to eat what you want, but you are satisfied with smaller portions and you are motivated to exercise. Because it is not a diet, you won’t feel deprived, miserable or hungry – the issues which cause diets to fail. As the Virtual Gastric Band effectively negates these issues, you now have an effective long term solution for reaching and maintaining your ideal weight.     return

What are the benefits of using Virtual Gastric Band for weight loss?

Because Virtual Gastric Band is not a diet, there is no calorie counting or excess focus on food. With Virtual Gastric Band you are reconnected to your body’s own natural system of knowing when you are hungry and when you have had enough to eat. So you naturally stop eating when your body has had the food it needs for nutritional needs.

With the Virtual Gastric Band system, you are motivated to exercise. You just naturally feel like moving your body more.

Since the Virtual Gastric Band system incorporates hypnosis, it is very relaxing. Therefore, when using the system, you experience states of relaxation which you may not normally experience during your day. Relaxation counters the effects of stress and is helpful in promoting long-term health benefits by slowing down the body and quieting the mind.     return

Are there any trials supporting using Virtual Gastric Band for weight loss?

Sheila Granger, a clinical hypnotherapist from the UK and from whom I learned this method, conducted her first trial with 25 people of different shapes, sizes, age ranges and gender. After only 3 weeks, the combined group lost over 196 pounds with all but one reporting a change in their eating habits.

Sheila’s second trial consisted of 10 patients referred to her by a GP. Some of these individuals had been refused gastric surgery. This method produced positive results in nine out of 10 of these patients.     return

How much does it actually cost to be overweight?

The Center for Disease Control (CDC) uses body mass index (BMI) to determine whether a person is underweight, normal weight, overweight or obese. BMI is a measurement similar to body fat percentage. You may use the CDC’s calculator to determine if your BMI is normal weight (18.5-24.9), overweight (25-29.9), or obese (30 or greater).

The George Washington University performed a study in September, 2010 to determine what the individual costs of being overweight and obese really are. The results of their study indicated that overweight women spend $524 more annually and overweight men spend $432 more annually than normal weight individuals. Obese women spend $4,879 more annually and obese men spend $2,646 more annually than their normal weight counterparts. Obese individuals have at least a 5-year reduction in life expectancy. If you include the value of loss of life to these costs, the amount rises to $8,365 for obese women and $6,518 for obese men.

The increase in costs is due to lost wages, absenteeism, decreased productivity, increased pension insurance, increased health care (secondary to the potential complications of diabetes, cardiovascular issues, high cholesterol, stomach ulcers, gallbladder disease, muscle and bone difficulties, and certain forms of cancer), short-term disability, increased cost of life insurance, gasoline, clothing and airfare (when obese individuals are required to pay for 2 seats).

Currently, two of three adults are considered either overweight or obese. In the next 20 years, this number is expected to rise to almost 50%.

There are more than monetary costs for unhealthy weight. Excess weight can also affect your motivation, your ability to participate in sports and activities, and your ability to maintain appropriate energy levels throughout your day. Thus, excess weight can affect your quality of life.     return
